2008 Celebrate MAINE Festival Wrap-up

What a wonderful year it has been working on the 2008 Celebrate MAINE Festival with its hosts The Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce and The Raitt Homestead Farm Museum.

We attracted near-record attendance despite the fact that fairs & festivals throught the region experienced declining numbers! The funds raised by The Raitt Homestead Farm Museum will be allocated to making the necessary repairs to restore their Apple Barn, a central structure on the museum property. Many thanks for everyone’s strong support!

Many thanks to our generous sponsors. Without them, the Celebrate MAINE Festival would not be possible. Shipyard Brew Pub, WOKQ/Shark and Jasper Wyman & Son jumped in to support us last year & they made a welcome return in 2008. Down East, FOX23, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Kennebunk Savings Bank and The Meat House did a superior job in helping to make 2008 Celebrate MAINE Festival a remarkable success. In addition, we were able to arrange close to $1,000 worth of our sponsors’ premium products to be delivered to the York Food Pantry! Planning has begun for the 2009 Celebrate MAINE Festival. It is scheduled again for the second weekend in August - Saturday & Sunday, August 8th & 9th, 2009. We look forward to seeing you all then!
